Appendix 3 - Evidence of order

In the following analysis, D(n) represents the absolute result of progressively differencing n integers. It has already been observed that, when applied to the 7 of Genesis 1:1 (G, say) the following results obtain:

• D(7) = 3256 = 88.37 = LCM of G(6) and G(7)
• D(5) = 592 = 16.37 = 2.G(7)
• D(2) = 111 = 3.37 = G(6) - G(7)

These facts are the more remarkable in that D(5) + D(2) = G(6) + G(7) = 703 = 19.37 = 37th triangular number - the CV of "... and the earth." But are we entitled to claim that they are uniquely interesting and further solid evidence for the standing miracle of Genesis 1:1?

To answer to this question it is first desirable that we convert each of the original 7 values to their modulo 37 form, thus:

We now observe the following:

• all 7 residues are multiples of 6

• because 1st and 5th residues are equal, 913 and 395 may exchange places without affecting any 'multiple of 37 ' outcome

• similarly, the positions of 407 and 296 may be exchanged

Again, because of the symmetry of the figures in each row of the Pascal Triangle, any 'multiple of 37 ' outcome will be unaffected if 1st and 7th, 2nd and 6th, and 3rd and 5th are exchanged. It therefore follows that 2^5, or 32, of the total of 5040 permutations must yield a multiple of 37 when progressively differenced.

When the two other conditions are applied, viz first 5 and last 2 yielding -592 and 111, respectively, this list of 32 is reduced to 4, viz

These represent a mere 0.08% of the total. But clearly it cannot yet be claimed that the original order is unique!
