Folklife West

No doubt computers will become cheaper and more widespread, but currently Folklife West feel that it is more democratic to remain paper-based. So: for on-line versions of Folklife West publications, we use PDF files based on paper originals, however this is not always possible, and priority (in time and money) is always given to paper versions.

Somers Traditional Folk Club (STFC)

The STFC, which is a separate organisation, has a webpage which also points to this page as occasionally PDF files are used for publicity.

A link both from Folklife West magazines site and from STFC web page; what's below applies to both.

  • So: for on-line versions of Folklife West publications, and for some STFC publicity, we may use PDF files based on paper originals.
  • PDF stands for Portable Document Format.
  • PDF preserves most or all of our original printed-page layout.
  • PDF produces a good quality printout.
  • PDF avoids the need to re-do pages specially for the web, so speeding up publication.
  • But our PDF pages don't have live links (for email & to webpages), so for Folklife West Members who want publicity, see Folklife West pages (link below)
