We welcome news & reports, from all Members, both individuals and organisations (including Folk Clubs/Venues; Festivals; Performers; Services), i nvolved in Dance, Story, Theatre, Poetry, Song, Music - even just a few lines! You don't have to be listed in our DIRECTORIES, nor be an advertiser. Members are of course welcome to write about non-members' folk activities! but items about Members will be given priority. Also welcome is for sale/wanted (no charge).

Sending your news & reports
~ word limits, due to costs, and to our limited time if too long, not printed, this includes Press Releases.
~ Not counted in word-limit: header (where & when), footer (contact name, tel, email, web, at end).
~ "for sale" or "wanted" welcome, free (within usual word limits)
~ Deadlines / publication dates: see main Folk West page, p3 .
Email / disc: word limits
~ up to 200 words for each club/festival/artist/etc., so a Member writing about a club and a band = up to 400 (2 @ 200) words.
~ Members advertising in current Folk West: 1/4 ad, up to 250 words. 1/2 ad, up to 300 words. A4 ad, up to 400 words.
~ EMAIL in plain text, directly in email [x no attachments - must be text] with Subject: Members' News [x if not headed up, we might miss it! loads of 'press releases' which we don't have time to read].
~ DISC ?? limited ability to read them (Mac, PageMaker v5-6.5; or Simple Text; PC, in your package 'Save As' Text or RTF. Others can't be opened). Word limits as email.
Other than email: word limits
Very limited time to type up anything. So only by phoning the editor beforehand , if you can confirm you have no access to email, we can probably retype up to 200 words per issue ( anything we have to type, including reviews, obits, etc).
