Welcome
to the homepage of Princess Parade Tenants Association. Princess Parade is the
link between the bus and rail interchange and the main shopping precinct and
markets.
The
estate straddles the Parade with nineteen flats situated above the shops. There
is a horse-shoe shaped terrace connecting both sides
of the estate. Each unit has a paved area to maintain a container garden.
- To represent tenants and on housing and wider
issues arising between them and the Local Authority or any other
interested party.
- To promote, establish and maintain a good
relationship between tenants and the Council, and to
offer information and guidance on particular issues.
- To promote the rights and common interests of
members of the association in local and national policies as appropriate.

Bury
Metro proposes to set up an Arm’s Length Management Organisation (ALMO) and
this will mean that tenants will have more influence over the management of
their homes.
The ALMO will be called
The process of electing
a shadow board is just starting and the council has invited interested tenants
to apply for a seat on the board. There
are seven tenant places available and if the applications exceed this number
then an election will take place.
Our Chairman has been a
Tenant Inspection Advisor with the Audit Commissions’ Housing Inspectorate for
three years now. He has been involved in
Best Value inspections of local authority housing services and has gained
knowledge and skills that will be invaluable to the board. He has submitted his application and this is
what he has to say:
We deserve decent housing both now and for
future generations. Like you, I want to see our homes
in good condition with our estates clean, safe and free from fear. Over the last few years, I
have gained experience working with the Audit-Commission on Best-Value
Inspections, including several ALMO’s. The knowledge, and the skills I have learned, will allow me to provide a significant
contribution to the work of the Board. I want our ALMO to be the best, and if elected I will strive
