Martin and Judy met at a martial arts club in Britain. Both of us have practiced a variety of martial arts, some to a high level. We both study Iaido together. This is the art of drawing the Japanese sword. Judy is a fourth dan, and Martin is a third dan in the Muso Shinden Ryu style.

If you click on the hypertext link you will find yourself at the official British Kendo Association web site. There your will find information regarding where you too can study the exciting forms of budo offered by that organisation.

Martin practiced Karate in the Kyushindo style for over ten years, and did 1-2 years each of jujitsu, aikido, tai chi and jodo.

Judy practices Aikido in the Tomiki style and is a brown belt (1st kyu) in it. She studies under Dr Ah Loi Lee at Yawara in London.

We also both practice Kendo intermittently; we are both beginners in this wonderfully cathartic budo.
