About the Band

Lilian Linden has played for Scottish Country Dance Classes for many years and has also been a pianist at the RSCDS Summer School at St Andrews for several years and played for many Day Schools. Over the last several years, she has also played and continues occasionally to play with some of the top Scottish Dance Bands in the South of England.

In October 1997, Lilian formed a Scottish dance band (now called the Invercauld Scottish Dance Band), which has played for Scottish Country Dances and Balls, New Year's Eve Dances, St Andrew's Nights, Burns' Nights, Weddings, Ceilidhs, Concerts, Charity Dances, and other fund-raising events, as well as Reeling Dances for Reelers, Parties and other functions with a Scottish flavour.

The Invercauld Scottish Dance Band aims to provide a dynamic, exciting and traditional sound, enjoyable for both dancers and listeners. The band normally consists of three, four or five musicians, usually including fiddle, accordion and piano, which can be augmented with a second fiddle and/or drums.

For ceilidhs and weddings, an excellent caller is available, so that everyone can join in the fun. Together, the lively music and calling make for a great evening, with a tremendous atmosphere.
