Waxing & Sugaring treatments

Most people are aware of how effective waxing treatments are for the removal of hair but are unaware of the use of sugar.  Sugaring has a long history of use in the Middle and Far East and is now gaining in popularity in Europe.    Sugaring uses a natural sugar paste and is less painful and also lasts on average two weeks longer than a wax treatment.

With both sugaring and waxing there can be contra-indications as follows:

Heart problems, epilepsy, diabetes, high or low blood pressure, spastic conditions, thrombosis, phlebitis, varicose veins, broken skin, inflammation, skin disease, bruising, oedemas, thread veins, currently taking antibiotics or steroids.

Pre-Waxing Advice

On the day of treatment, do not swim or soak in a bath

Do not sunbathe or use a sunbed

Do not use oils or moisturisers on the area to be treated

Keep make-up to a minimum if facial waxing is to be carried out

Do not exercise vigorously

Clean or disposable underwear should be worn for bikini line waxing or sugaring

Hairs need to be at least 1/4" long

Do not bleach hair if it is to be waxed or sugared

Rejuvenating Facial

A course of Rejuvenating Facials can often enhance facial appearance and the way we feel. The facial muscles are gently stimulated resulting in a better complexion. Rejuvenating Facials
can also help to improve elasticity of the skin which is something a face lift does not offer.

The whole body is relaxed and stress is released and many people also experience relief from head, neck and skull pains including migraine headaches.

To understand
Rejuvenating Facials, it is useful to know a little of how the muscles work. A tense muscle does not function properly. It inhibits the circulation of blood and lymph and therefore their ability to give nourishment and take away waste products from the body. As the muscles slowly shrink, ageing sets in.

A muscle cannot release emotions by itself. This is where
Rejuvenating Facials comes in. It works gently and very precisely on the connective tissue and muscles of the face, neck, shoulders and skull. In these areas, where the tension has inevitably built up are the "zone" points of the body. By releasing the tensions in the upper regions of our body, we can let go of the tension that has been stored up in all other parts too and stress can often just melt away.

The full treatment of six one-hour sessions progresses from gentle massage of the tissue just below the skin surface to deeper concentration on muscle tension. The technique also stimulates the connective tissue and nervous system in different layers of the muscles. The blood supply is improved which results in the release and removal of toxins which in turn can bring about an improvement in the condition of the complexion.

Rejuvenating Facials are very gentle, extremely soothing and relaxing and can bring about a feeling of general wellbeing.
