I am a short haired Labrador cross bitch (I don't like that word) and I was born in
November 1999 and lived with my then master and mistress and their two
children (7 and 12 years) but they said I bit one of their fingers.
I admit it, I did, but it was only puppy play, they had thought it was
fun until I bit to hard, anyway they left me at the Northern Counties
Horse Protection Society & Small Animals Shelter June 1999 (I should mention
I was called Suki then).
I was only there one night when along came my present master and mistress who adopted me (it must have been one of my good days). I still 'nibble' fingers but only my master's and those of my master's son, Graham, when he comes home.
Hallo, my name is Tara, it must be a shock to my master and mistress
having a little 'nibbler' in the family after me, I didn't have a
mean bone in my body, I know, because my master told me. I am a long
haired alsation bitch (German Shepherd) and I also was adopted from the
above shelter in 1988 when I was 1 year old. I was very 'placid' and
only went at the pace of my mistress who has mobility problems, I was
very loyal and ignored other dogs, except once.
There I was asleep under a tree when this alsation came into 'my garden' barking and snarling at my mistress, she was doing this thing called 'gardening' which humans seem to get pleasure from doing, I couldn't have that, like 'lightening' (at least my mistress said she had never seen me move so fast before) I charged at the other dog and 'flattened it' and my mistress had to hold me back so it could run away. I never forgot that dog and gave it a 'snarl' every time I saw it.
I am a short haired alsation bitch, I came from the same shelter in 1980 when I was 5 years old and was definitly more active than 'Tara', my name is Lassie.
I was a hunter, anything upto leg height was fair game, so little dogs had to beware as I could 'strike' at any time (I was loyal to my master and mistress, I brought to them, whatever I caught, and dropped it when I was told).
They did not seem to appreciate the 'present' I brought them one year
when we were on holiday, I think they called it a rat, it was quite
large, 2 feet I believe from nose to tail. I don't understand the
'alarmed' calls of 'drop it', it wasn't dead and it got away.
Me, I am a long haired Border Collie dog (cross) and go by the name of Kim, I was their 'first', my master was an insurance agent in 1964 calling 'door to door' and chose me from a customers dog's litter. He said I stood out as I was twice the size of my brothers and sisters (they must have been small as I wasn't a big dog), I soon got used to a car as I drove around with him every day.
We moved house in 1965 when my master married my mistress, I was loyal but did like the odd independant 'trip' on my own, thats how I got the plaster on my leg. In short, I ran off , got hit by a car and had to crawl 1/2 a mile home having broken my leg. From then on, even when the plaster was removed, I raised my right paw whenever I wanted something and they used to say 'aaah', that is until I forgot which leg I injured and raised the wrong one.
I was always 'athletic', swimming, chase the stick or ball but perhaps I should have been a 'highjumper'. One day, on an outing to Hadrian's wall in Northumberland, chasing my ball, as you do, the ball having 'landed' on the top of the wall, I somehow managed to scramble up after it, so what you say, well it was about 10 foot tall, nearly 5 times my height, I was quite proud.
Oh, the tales we dogs could tell, if we had a book in which in which to tell them. Well, apart from loving our master and mistress the thing we loved best was a 'tot' of milk, we would do anything for that.
